I was able to take Missandei (I call her Missi for short) home on a kennel break from our facility for a few days. She was the PERFECT house guest! She is potty trained and kennel trained which is a big plus in my opinion.
I have two female pitties, one of which is super dog-friendly and the other is very selective and especially so at home, so I have to be smart when introducing new dogs. When I first brought Missi home, I put my dogs in their kennels and let her explore the house. Once she seemed to have settled in a bit, I did introductions with my dogs which went very well, even with my selective girl. Missi has such a nice, calm demeanor that both of my dogs felt comfortable around her almost immediately. I was able to let them freely interact the whole weekend without issue; they even played a few times! Missi was adopted out for a short time but was returned because she did not do well with a small dog. I’ve had her around quite a few medium to large dogs and she has done great with all of them.
We did a lot of hanging out on the couch, which she loved. She would only get up on furniture when I invited her. I did clean my house while Missi was visiting and she would follow me around occasionally but was more content to just snooze on the couch with my own dogs. The first night I kenneled her next to my dogs and she did great. She did whine for about 5 minutes, but then not a peep for the rest of the night! The second night I let her sleep in bed with me and she stayed put the whole night.
Missi walks great on a leash and loves to go for walks. She also LOVES to play fetch. She can entertain herself for hours with a tennis ball, even if you don’t want to throw it for her! She also loves car rides and is a very good passenger. Missi would sit very nicely and didn’t bounce around the car as some dogs do. She has very good manners. She knows how to sit and lay down; and is very treat motivated.
I brought Missi to an adoption event and she did great; loved meeting all the people and getting pets. She loves attention from people and will happily return the favor by covering you with kisses! Missi did meet a few small kids while there and was very good with them.
I absolutely adore this girl, and anyone would be lucky to have her. Missandei is such an easy going, relaxed dog and will fit perfectly into just about any home!
