(KNFL/KFGO) – Fargo-Moorhead avoids being sent home, coming up with a 6-3 win against Kansas City in game four of the West Division Championship Series. The RedHawks would trot out Parker Harm to start in Kansas City, while the Monarchs would hand the ball to Michael Mariot.
Fargo-Moorhead wasted no time getting on the board in game four, with Jose Sermo crushing a solo home run in the top of the second inning. Matt Kroon would single on the next pitch, which set up Dillon Thomas to break the game open with a two-run home run to give the RedHawks a 3-0 lead.
Kansas City would get one back in the bottom half of the second, with Sahid Valenzuela and Hudson Head hitting back to back doubles to cut the lead to two.
Eric Filia would extend the RedHawks lead in third inning, sending a two-run homer to left field to give the RedHawks a 5-1 lead.
The Monarchs would try to stay in this game however, with Onix Vega hitting a two out RBI single to give Kansas City another run.
Brian Fuentes would match that run production for the RedHawks though, hitting an RBI single of his own to push the lead back to four.
Kansas City would record one more run in this game in the bottom of the seventh, coming off a solo home run from Luken Baker to make the score 6-3. RedHawks reliever Jon Beymer would hit the next batter and an error would put runners on first and second. Fargo-Moorhead would bring in reliever Justin Lopez who would close out the inning.
Tyler Jeans would be brought in to close out the game in the bottom of the ninth.
RedHawks starter Parker Harm would pick up the win, going five innings, giving up two runs on seven hits, while striking out seven. Closer Tyler Jeans recorded the save.
Kansas City starter Michael Mariot would be the losing pitcher going four innings, giving up five runs on six hits with no strikeouts.
