MOORHEAD, Minn. (KFGO) – On “Afternoons Live”, Del Rae Williams said she wants to become mayor of Moorhead once again to calm down discussions with the City Council.
“When you fight when you’re making decisions, you don’t always make the best ones. I’ve watched that and that’s not good,” Williams explained. “We can disagree, of course, but we have to do it civilly.”
Williams’ priorities include getting more affordable housing and would create a task force on making that possible if elected, transparency and community building.
Williams touted her work on getting funding from the legislature for the underpass at Main Avenue and 20th and 21st Streets as one of the most important things she got done as mayor from 2014 to 2018.
Guest host Jim Shaw asked Williams if her health is good enough to serve as mayor if elected. She suffered a stroke in 2022.
“It certainly is. I have been active since then and around in the community and people see me,” Williams said.
Williams is running against council member and former judge Lisa Borgen and Craig Whaley.
