(KNFL/KFGO) – The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks win the series against the Saltdogs but are unable to come away with a win in this one after a two hour rain delay. Fargo-Moorhead would give the start to lefty Eric Chalus while Lincoln would go with an opener in Ryan Spalliero.
In the top of the first inning the RedHawks would score the first run of the game. With the bases loaded and two outs, Matt Kroon would ground into a fielders choice that would bring Jesus Lujano in to score.
The RedHawks would only add to that lead in the following inning, first coming from an RBI single off the bat of Eric Filia. Just two pitches later the RedHawks would tally another on another RBI single, this time from Tripp Clark.
Fargo-Moorhead would hold a 3-0 lead going into the bottom of the eighth inning. Nick Shumpert would start the inning with a double to center. Mason Pelio would walk the next two batters to load the bases for Lincoln. Former RedHawk Jake Hjelle was up next and he would crush a grand slam to give the Saltdogs a 4-3 lead. Saltdogs closer Tyler Stasiowski would close the door despite giving up early baserunners in the ninth.
Eric Chalus would go 6.0 innings giving up 4 hits and no runs. Mason Pelio would get the loss going 1.0 inning with 3 hits and 4 runs allowed.
Lincoln’s Drake LaRoche would get the win and Tyler Stasiowski would get the save.
