BISMARCK, N.D. (KFGO) – North Dakota Governor Kelly Armstrong has rescinded a ban on TikTok usage on state-owned devices now that the app is majority-owned by an American group.
The North Dakota Information Technology Department has determined the app no longer is a cybersecurity threat to state operations.
Former Governor Doug Burgum issued the ban in 2022 citing national security concerns with how the app collected and shared data when Chinese company Bytedance owned it.
