(KNFL/KFGO) – After a 5-4 win Friday evening, the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks were looking for a series victory on the road against the Winnipeg Goldeyes Saturday night. The Hawks would send Kyle Crigger to the mound. The Goldeyes would counter with Ryo Kohigashi.
After Fargo-Moorhead struck first on a Jose Sermo sacrifice fly in the top of the 1st, Ramon Bramasco would give Winnipeg the lead on a 2-run single in the bottom of the 1st. Raphael Pelletier would drive in a run himself on an RBI single to make it 3-1 Goldeyes later in the inning.
In the bottom of the 4th, Ray-Patrick-Didder launched a 3-run home run to left field to give the Goldeyes a 6-1 lead. Denver Blinn, would drive in a run on an RBI single to make it 6-2.
Kyle Crigger would be done pitching for the RedHawks after six innings of work. Crigger would give up 10 hits on six earned runs, while striking out seven. Angelo Cabral would come on in relief in the bottom of the 7th. He’d face Roby Enríquez, who’d homer on the first pitch of the inning to give the Goldeyes a 7-2 lead.
Fargo-Moorhead would put on a little bit of a rally in the top of the 9th, as Juan Fernandez hit a 2-run single, and Jose Sermo hit an RBI double with two outs. The RedHawks would have the tying in Matt Kroon come to the plate with Sermo at 2nd. But Kroon flew out to center which ended the game. Fargo-Moorhead would fall 7-5.
