FERGUS FALLS, Minn (KFGO/KBRF) – A Moorhead man is facing charges after allegedly stealing an SUV one week after he was previously arrested for stealing a different vehicle.
Court documents say Brandon Jones, 33, was arrested after he was found in possession of a stolen SUV, boat and trailer. Officers were called to the area after an employee at a fireworks stand told police Jones was making her uncomfortable.
When officers arrived they contacted the owner of the SUV, who said it had been stolen. The owner also said the boat and trailer attached to the SUV did not belong to them. Officers then contacted the owner of the boat and trailer, who reported them stolen.
Officers arrested Jones after he told officers he bought the boat and SUV for a dollar from his great aunt earlier in the week, but had no proof of purchase.
One week before Jones was arrested for stealing the boat and SUV, Jones was arrested for driving a stolen vehicle that belonged to his neighbor.
