HAZEN, N.D. (KFGO) – A Minot man has died after a plane crash in Mercer County.
North Dakota State Highway Patrol says the crash happened around 1:45 p.m Sunday at the Mercer County Regional Airport.
Investigators say the pilot was flying a single-engine plane and attempted to return to the runway with is landing gear redeployed before losing altitude and crashing into the ground.
The man died from injuries. He was wearing a seatbelt.
The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota State Patrol and Federal Aviation Administration.
