The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks jumped out to an early lead in the second inning with a sacrifice fly by Brian Fuentes and an RBI single from Colby Wilkerson. After Gary tied the game, José Sermo smashed a decisive two-run home run to right field in the fifth to make it 5-2. The RailCats clawed their way back by capitalizing on a seventh-inning error and an eighth-inning wild pitch to cut the deficit to a single run. In the bottom of the ninth, closer Denson Hull stepped up for the RedHawks, stranding the tying run at third base to secure the gritty 5-4 road victory.
