ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Powerball is going international this summer, with players in the United Kingdom joining the same jackpot game long played across the U.S.
The expansion led by the Multi-State Lottery Association is expected to boost jackpots faster without changing ticket prices or odds. In Minnesota, where lottery proceeds help fund environmental and public programs, leaders say the move could mean bigger jackpots while still keeping local funding intact, since more than half the funds from each ticket sold stays in-state.
The game remains the same for U.S. players, with overall odds at one in 24.9 and jackpot odds at roughly one in 292 million.
