(KNFL/KFGO) – After a 7-4 victory in Game 2 Sunday evening, the Fargo Force had a 2-0 lead entering Game 3 of the best-of-5 series in the Western Conference Semis against the Sioux City Musketeers, who were looking to keep the series alive as the series swong to Sioux City, Iowa.
Dakota Bailey of Sioux City would put the Musketeers on the board first with his 2nd goal of the postseason, while being assisted by William Tomko, and Gavin Carr, at the 5:33 mark of the 1st period. The Force would tie the game in the 2nd period, as after a roughing penalty on Luke Garry at the 14:55 mark of the 2nd, Gavin Uhlenkamp would score a powerplay goal at the 16:22 mark, with the assists going to Mason West, and Graham Jones. Uhlenkamp now has 4 goals in this series against Sioux City. The game would stay tied at 1 after the end of the 2nd, as well as the 3rd period, leading to Overtime. Despite an impressive performance by Fargo goaltender, Ajay White, Ashton Schultz would win the game for Sioux City at the 1:39 mark of OT. William Tomko would get the assist on the game winner.
Ajay White, the goalie for Fargo, stopped 20 of 22 Sioux City shots. Jack Fickthorn, the goalie for Sioux City, made 28 saves on 29 Fargo shots.
The Fargo Force do lead the series 2-1, but the Sioux City Musketeers are still alive, as Game 4 is tonight at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa, with a 7:05 PM puck drop. If Sioux City wins Game 4, the series swings back to Fargo, where Game 5 will be played at the Scheels Arena on Tuesday, April 28th, with the puck drop at 6:05 PM.
