GLYNDON, Minn. (KFGO) – The superintendent at Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton schools says safety protocols were implemented Tuesday as law enforcement were handling an incident.
Superintendent Shannon Hunstad says they implemented a temporary “hallway closure” across the school buildings.
The Minnesota State Patrol, Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Dilworth Police and Glyndon Police had officers outside of the schools in both Dilworth and Glyndon as a precautionary measure.
“We want to emphasize that there was no direct threat to our students, staff, or schools. This action was taken out of an abundance of caution to ensure the continued safety of our school environment while law enforcement addressed a specific situation,” Hunstad said.
Law enforcement at the school in Glyndon tell KFGO they were able to make contact with a person of interest and all school buildings were secured.
Hunstad says all school activities have returned to their normal schedules.
Law enforcement have not said what kind of incident they were dealing with. Sheriff Mark Empting says no one was taken into custody.
