New footage released by the City of Minneapolis from an ice involved shooting that injured Julio Sosa-Celis
MINNEAPOLIS (KFGO/Learfield) – New video footage has been released from an ICE-involved shooting that injured Julio Sosa-Celis in north Minneapolis earlier this year. The city of Minneapolis posted about nine minutes of video from the January 14 shooting.
ICE agents were attempting to arrest Sosa-Celis after a pursuit ended in a crash. The 24-year-old was taken to a hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Another man was also arrested. Both men were charged with assaulting a federal agent, but charges were later dismissed, citing evidence inconsistent with earlier allegations.
The US Attorney’s Office is investigating two ICE agents who were at the scene of the shooting after video evidence showed portions of their sworn statements were not truthful.
