LAKE ELMO, Minn. (KFGO/MNN) – Forward Independence party candidate Mike Newcome says he’s running for Minnesota Governor to give the voters a “viable” alternative. Newcome says we no longer have a government that is for the people and by the people.
“It is now by the party and their special interests and for the party and their special interests. And neither the Democrats nor the Republicans because of their toxic partisan battle are able to accomplish anything in this state on behalf of the people.” Newcome says.
Newcome says his only special interests would be the taxpayers who put the 64-billion-dollars in the state budget. Eight republicans are running against Governor Walz.
“Oh you sound like a Republican based on your tax stances. And I say well a common sense government that doesn’t waste money and rolls out the red carpet for businesses. I don’t think that’s a Republican stance , I think that’s a Minnesotan stance. So, I call myself right down the middle.” Newcome says.
