FARGO (KFGO/KVRR) – The Fargo Police Department says three teens are in custody after an early-morning shooting that left one man with a gunshot wound in his foot.
Fargo Police received reports of gunshots in the 1100 block of 3rd Street N. around 1:40 a.m. Sunday. Witnesses say several people in dark clothing ran from the scene. There were also reports of a dark colored vehicle that failed to stop for a stop sign in the area.
Soon after, a police officer noticed a black car matching the description in the 400 block of NP Avenue. The officer conducted a traffic stop. Several firearms found in the vehicle were seized. Two 17-year-old boys and one 16-year-old boy who were in the car were taken into custody for unlawful possession of handguns.
Around 2:20 a.m. a hospital notified the Red River Regional Dispatch Center that a man came in with a gunshot wound to the foot that was not life-threatening. Officers responded to interview the victim and gather additional information.
Investigators are working to determine what led to the shooting.
