GRAND RAPIDS, Minn. – An Itasca County woman has pleaded guilty to trying to vote for her dead mother in the November 2024 election.
Danielle Miller, 51, of Nashwauk, entered a Norgaard plea to a felony count and two other charges were dismissed.
The county auditor’s office says it received signed ballots from Miller and her mother last October. Her mother died on August 31, before ballots could be filled out. Miller admitted her mother was an avid Donald Trump supporter and she wanted to vote for him.
The judge ordered her to read a book about the importance of voting in a democracy and write a 10-page essay, pay an $885 fine and serve three years of probation.
