OTTERTAIL, Minn. (KFGO) – Otter Tail County deputies responded to two separate calls within an hour-and-a-half of each other on Otter Tail Lake on Saturday.
The first was around 3:40 p.m. for a report of a sailboat that capsized. By the time deputies arrived, another boater had helped the original boater upright his sailboat.
Then, shortly after 5 p.m., a 44-year-old man reported his 41-year-old brother was missing. The two were on elevated, power-assisted wake boards when the 41-year-old was last seen. The Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota DNR, Battle Lake Rescue and Fire Department, and LifeLink responded and conducted an air and water search.
Within an hour, the man was located on shore and safe. He says he was having mechanical issues, but made it to shore.
