ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Education is celebrating a successful second year of the state’s free meals program.
Nutrition Program Services director Emily Honer says 151 million meals were served during the second year. She says the meals are not only free, but healthy and nutritious, allowing students to be better learners.
Governor Walz’s office says the program has saved Minnesota families an average of $1,000 per student each year.
