FARGO (KFGO) – A West Fargo man was arrested in Fargo after a high speed pursuit that covered parts of Cass and Richland counties early Tuesday morning.
A car driven by Christopher Pankowski, 42, was first pursued by a Cass County Deputy on I-29. Pankowski was going 118 miles-an-hour when the chase went into Richland County where the State Patrol took over.
Richland County Deputies set up spike strips at the Wahpeton exit, but Pankowski left the interstate before that. The chase was eventually terminated for public safety reasons after Pankowski took the 52nd avenue exit in Fargo.
Fargo Police later spotted the car on University Drive South and followed it to an apartment complex. Pankowski ran from officers, but was caught.
Pankowski was arrested on charges stemming from the pursuits, DUI, DUI test refusal and reckless endangerment. He was also wanted on a Cass County warrant.
