FARGO (KFGO) – With school beginning Wednesday in Fargo, police are reminding drivers the fine for passing a stopped school bus went up Aug. 1.
This year, the state Legislature raised the fine from $100 to $250 for drivers who pass a bus that has its red lights flashing and stop arm out. It is meant to protect kids as they get on and off the bus.
Fargo Police say a few extra seconds of caution goes a long way in avoiding tragic situations.
