FARGO (KFGO) – A Tokio, North Dakota man has been sentenced to 33 years in prison in the death of a three-year-old child on the Spirit Lake Indian Reservation.
In April, 29-year-old Austin Lester pled guilty in federal court to involuntary manslaughter, assault of a child with a dangerous weapon and child neglect.
Co-defendant Krissy Hinsley was sentenced earlier to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to child neglect.
The U.S. Attorney’s office says the charges are related to the August 2022 neglect and death of a three-year-old. The investigation was conducted by the FBI.
