CHANHASSEN, Minn. – The National Weather Service received a handful of tornado reports during Monday’s severe storms.
Meteorologist Melissa Dye says several of the reports in south central Minnesota were the same tornado in Nicollet and Blue Earth counties. She says there was also a reported tornado touchdown in Todd County south of Wadena. A roof was blown off a barn near Bertha.
Dye says there were funnel clouds and rotating wall clouds in Carver and McCleod counties, but no tornadoes touched down. Three-and-a-quarter-inch hail fell near Chanhassen, two-inch hail was reported near Mankato, and Waconia received half-dollar sized hail.
Severe weather, including high winds, was also reported in the Brainerd area.
Parts of Fargo received pea-sized hail Monday morning.
