FERGUS FALLS, Minn. (KFGO-KBRF) — A man was arrested at the Fergus Falls Walmart Sunday morning for threatening to “shoot the place up.”
Court records say Fergus Falls Police responded 8:40 a.m. Sunday for a man threatening to kill people in the parking lot. A witness told officers that they believed the man had a machete.
Officers found the suspect, 37-year-old Reis Allan Tueffel of Columbia Heights, in a van at the back of the parking lot and used a PA system to order him out of the vehicle. Tueffel yelled that he wasn’t going back to jail. He attempted to drive away, but drove over stop sticks. Officers were able to remove him from the vehicle and take him into custody.
Tueffel has been charged with threats of violence and made his first court appearance on Monday.
