Izak Schmerhorn (Otter Tail County Detention Facility, Fergus Falls)
WADENA, Minn. (KFGO) – A man is dead and another is in jail following a crash near Wadena late Tuesday night.
Otter Tail County deputies say Blake Unger, 18, was killed in the crash northwest of Wadena. Deputies found a pickup on its side in a ditch near an intersection where the crash took place.
Unger was found dead near the pickup. The driver of the pickup, 18-year-old Izak Schermerhorn, was arrested for vehicular homicide, 4th degree DWI, and underage drinking and driving.
The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Wadena County Sheriff’s Department, Bluffton Fire and Rescue, the State Patrol, and Astera Ambulance.
The crash was reported 10:45 p.m.
