FERGUS FALLS, Minn. (KFGO KBRF) – A Fergus Falls apartment fire left tenants displaced Sunday afternoon. Firefighters responded to the fire on East Cavour Avenue near Riverside Waterfowl Sanctuary at 1:46.
Firefighters saw smoke coming from one of the units involved. Due to the quick action of another tenant who used a fire extinguisher on the fire, damage was confined to one apartment unit.
Training and Safety Division Chief Dan Lipson says the cooking fire damage costs $20,000, and the affected unit cannot be occupied. The Red Cross is aiding the displaced tenants.
The Fergus Falls Police Department, Ringdahl EMS, and Ottertail Power Company assisted the fire department. Firefighters were on the scene for about an hour.
