
Kadar Pearson (Cass County Jail)
FARGO (KFGO) – A federal judge has sentenced a Fargo man to just over four years in prison for having a gun as a felon.
Kadar Pearson, 21, tossed a stolen handgun under a car as Fargo police were investigating a call of shots fired outside the Arbors apartment complex in June of last year.
Pearson was wearing a sweatshirt and pulled a ski mask over his face even though the temperature was in the 70s. The handgun was loaded.
At the time, Pearson was an inmate on escape status with the State Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation for felony convictions of of fentanyl delivery and theft of a gun. U.S. District Court Judge Peter Welte imposed a sentence of 51 months. Pearson pleaded guilty in November 2024.
The case was part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, which is a multi-agency program to reduce violent crime and gun violence.
It was investigated by Fargo police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
