ST. PAUL, Minn. – Minnesotans could soon have more freedom on where they drink alcohol following senate passage of the omnibus liquor policy bill.
The legislation would authorize more cities statewide to create social districts. A social district is a designated area where people can walk around outdoors and drink alcoholic beverages from businesses.
The bill also allows cities and counties to authorize liquor licenses in specific situations and increases the number of cases of wine that may be shipped to Minnesota residents to four.
The bill now heads to the Minnesota house.
