FERGUS FALLS, Minn. (KFGO-KBRF) – An Underwood woman is facing an assault charge after allegedly causing a crash on purpose during an argument.
According to court documents, a caller reported a car crash and said they heard a man and woman yelling at each other.
50-year-old Ruby Tungseth told Otter Tail County deputies she and the man went to buy a lottery ticket, and on their way home, they got into an argument. Tungseth said she tried to open her door while the vehicle was moving, but the man wouldn’t let her. She said she then pulled the steering wheel, causing the car to go into the ditch. After the crash, the pair got into an altercation before leaving the scene.
The man told deputies travelling around 60 miles per hour when she pulled on the wheel.
The crash happened in September, but Tungseth wasn’t charged until this week.
