ST. PAUL – The 2025 legislative session is scheduled to open today at noon. House Democrats say they won’t be there without a power-sharing agreement in place.
Republicans like House Speaker-Designate Lisa Demuth say they will power ahead with business as usual. She says, “At noon, as prescribed by law, House Republicans will be in the chamber sitting in our seats with our family and those supporters around us ready to take the oath of office and have that honor to represent our constituents to be sworn into office and get to work for the people of Minnesota.”
House Democrats offered a compromise on the power-sharing agreement but still no word of any deal coming out of the Capitol.
