MANKATO, Minn. (KFGO) – An 18-year-old Moorhead man was arrested in southern Minnesota after a shooting on New Year’s Eve.
The Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to a business west of Mankato on a report of broken glass and a handgun in the parking lot. A short time later, deputies learned a female who was in the parking lot, but not one of the shooters, was admitted to a hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
Surveillance video from the business shows two people firing handguns at each other.
Investigators say Abdikhadar Mohidin matched the description of one of the shooters. He was found at a nearby residence and taken into custody.
The Sheriff’s Office says the shooting appears drug related and marijuana was found near the broken glass and handgun.
Mohidin is being held in the Blue Earth County jail.
