MANKATO, Minn. – Some of a Mankato boys hockey team’s equipment has been recovered following a theft at a northern Minnesota arena.
The team from Mankato West High School was set to play in the Heritage Hockey Classic Tournament in Duluth Saturday when players realized their sticks were missing.
Detectives made an arrest late Saturday night after finding a man with some of the hockey sticks. The team says the sticks that have been recovered are being held as evidence.
The team has started a GoFundMe to purchase new sticks for those affected.
