suspect in Dec. 20 burglary near Barnesville (Wilkin Co. Sheriff's Office)
BRECKENRIDGE, Minn. (KFGO) – A Fargo man has been arrested in a recent burglary south of Barnesville.
Wilkin County Sheriff Tony Harris says deputies and Fargo police detectives conducted a search at the home of Benjamin Emerson in Fargo. He says Emerson was arrested for the burglary and on separate charges in Fargo.
The sheriff’s office responded to a home December 20 where the thief had parked in the garage and tried to load a safe into his pickup using a floor jack. He eventually used a chain and dragged the safe out of the yard and drove away. Images from the scene captured on video were circulated on social media by the sheriff’s department. Harris says that produced several calls and leads.
Harris thanked the public and other law enforcement agencies for providing information and assistance that resulted in the arrest of Emerson.
