FARGO (KFGO) โ A Fargo man arrested for the Monday morning hit-and-run death of a woman in Fargo told investigators that he was late for work and thought he had struck a deer.
The Cass County Stateโs Attorneys Office has charged Alex Cruz, 23, with a felony for leaving the scene of a crash involving death or injury and misdemeanor driving under suspension.
36-year-old Robyn Krause was hit as she was crossing 38th St. and 53rd Ave. near Walmart. She died at Essentia Health.
The highway patrol obtained video footage showing a car fleeing the scene. The car, with front end damage, was found at the employer of Cruz in Fargoโs Industrial Park. Cruz has been given a public defender. The charges were filed Thursday in Cass County District Court.
His next court appearance is set for late January. Cruz has a history of speeding, with citations issued in Cass County, Fargo and West Fargo this year.
