DULUTH, Minn. (KFGO) – Former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty is one of seven new members named to the board of directors of Essentia Health.
Pawlenty, a Republican who served two terms as governor, was in the state house before he was elected governor.
Essentia says while he was governor, Pawlenty promoted intentional business opportunities through trade missions to nine countries.
Pawlenty has been on the boards of several businesses and organizations. He practiced law for 14 years. Pawlenty received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota and his law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School.
Essentia Health, based in Duluth, has 14 hospitals, 78 clinics, 24 retail pharmacies, long-term care facilities, assisted living centers, seven ambulance services and one research institute with about 15,500 employees.
