ST. PAUL, Minn. – Minnesota is the first state that will give taxpayers the option to receive advance payments of their child tax credit.
In the future, Minnesotans who qualify can get three payments during the year of their tax credit.
State Revenue Commissioner Paul Marquart says families can receive advance payment for next year’s payment. Taxpayers may qualify for a child tax credit of $1,750 per child, with no limit on the number of children claimed.
Marquart says taxpayers who meet the requirement need to review their forms and check the appropriate box to claim the credit.
