MOORHEAD, Minn. (KFGO-KVRR) — With travel picking up for the holiday season, Minnesota State Patrol is cracking down on intoxicated drivers.
The patrol started a DWI enforcement blitz Wednesday night and continuing through New Year’s Eve.
The State Patrol will increase officer presence on Minnesota’s roads as part of the blitz.
The patrol wants people to be smarter and more educated to avoid any of the risks that come with driving impaired.
“The goal is really not about the number of tickets we write or arrests we make, it’s about trying to prevent that very thing, and just getting the information out there, get education out there. We want people to make good smart choices each and every time they get in the vehicle,” said Sgt. Jesse Grabow
This is the busiest time of the year for DWI’s in Minnesota.
