GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KFGO) – A man is jailed, facing several charges after fleeing Grand Forks Police. Shortly after 6 last night, officers responded to the Interstate 29 southbound on-ramp at Demers Ave. for a motorist assist.
A Jeep Cherokee was pulled off to the side of the road, partially blocking the southbound lane where they found the man who appeared sleeping in the driver’s seat. He woke up and he was believed to be under the influence.
He then drove off from police southbound on I-29 and he was pursued to the 32nd Avenue South exit where he crossed the travel lanes and came to a stop on the I-29 southbound on-ramp.
The driver, 53-year-old Marlin Johnson, of Grand Forks was arrested and charged with fleeing in a motor vehicle, reckless endangerment, DUI, DUI refusal, and DUS.
