ROSEVILLE, Minn. (KFGO/KVRR) — Since it began, the Minnesota Lottery has returned $4 billion to the state to help expand outdoor recreation, support local agriculture, restore wildlife habitats and protect water quality.
In fiscal year 2024 a record payout of $196.5 million was returned to lottery beneficiaries who serve each of Minnesota’s 87 counties.
Last year, players cashed in more than $476 million in lottery prizes as sales reached over $775 million. That is the third highest total in the lottery’s 34-year history.
