NEW YORK MILLS, Minn. (KFGO) – The driver of a horse-drawn Amish buggy was seriously injured in a collision with a minivan near New York Mills.
The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office says 40-year-old Mabel Stauffer of New York Mills was hurt when the van driven by 85-year-old Allyn Jokela, also of New York Mills, ran into the back of the buggy. Jokela was treated at the scene. Stauffer was taken to Sanford Health in Perham for further evaluation.
The collision happened at an intersection on County Highway 67 shortly before 6 p.m. Monday.
It remains under investigation.
