WEST FARGO (KFGO) – The City of West Fargo has approved utility rate increases for next year.
The changes take effect Jan. 1 and residents will see the new rates on their first bill of the new year.
The city says residents will see increases in water, sewer, forestry and vector control, and sanitation rates. The new rates will cover increasing costs, infrastructure and other projects, and will help build a reserve for future projects that will help reduce the need for special assessments.
Water: West Fargo Water Rates will increase to help fund water infrastructure replacement projects, and to build a reserve for future projects. The reserve will allow the City to bond for future projects, in an effort to reduce the use of special assessments. Additionally, with this increase, the City’s Public Works Department will complete the replacement of all West Fargo Water Meters.
*The monthly fixed charge is applied to all residential and commercial users and is based on a standard meter size. This fixed charge may increase if a property has a larger water meter.
