RANSOM COUNTY, N.D. (KFGO) โ The North Dakota Highway Patrol says a man was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash shortly before 3:30 p.m. Sunday in Ransom County.
The State Patrol says a group of 300 motorcycles were traveling northbound near Fort Ransom as part of a tribute run that had started in Jamestown.
A motorcycle driven by 63-year-old Monte Rodacker of Jamestown was traveling in the middle of the group when a trike-style motorcycle passed Rodacker at a high rate of speed. Once in front of Rodacker, the same bikers hit their brakes as they tried to negotiate a curve on the roadway. Rodacker was forced to slam on his brakes to avoid colliding with the motorcycles that had just passed him. He was thrown from his cycle onto the highway. He was transported to the Lisbon hospital before being airlifted to Sanford Hospital in Fargo.
The patrol is asking for information from any motorcycle riders in the memorial run who saw the person driving the trike motorcycle that passed Rodacker.
