FARGO (KFGO) – Wildfire smoke is expected to affect North Dakota and northwest and west central Minnesota Wednesday and Thursday.
The smoke from wildfires in Canada and the western U.S. will move into the Red River Valley Wednesday afternoon and could linger into mid-day Thursday. People may see or smell the smoke that can irritate the eyes, nose, and throat, and cause coughing, chest tightness, shortness of breath, dizziness, or fatigue.
State health officials in North Dakota and Minnesota are urging people in sensitive groups – like those with respiratory conditions, pregnant women, and children and older adults – to limit outside activity.
