LISBON, N.D. (KFGO) – A Lisbon man is charged after threatening to kill his father if he didn’t give him back his bottle of laughing gas.
According to court records, 31-year-old Hunter Mairs’ father told police Mairs uses marijuana, Adderall, and nitrous oxide, commonly called laughing gas, and has been disruptive for weeks.
On Thursday night, Mairs’ father took the laughing gas because Mairs had been inhaling it. Mairs threatened to shoot his father Thursday night and again Friday.
On Friday, Mairs’ parents say a .22-caliber pistol was on the couch.
Mairs’ mother threatened to call the police. Mairs shoved her to the floor and took her phone. When Mairs’ father stepped in, Mairs shoved him, allowing Mairs’ mother to get the phone and call for help.
Mairs is charged with terrorizing, interfering with an emergency call, simple assault, and drug possession.
