Highway Patrol says second SUV involved in Fargo crash that seriously injured motorcycle rider

FARGO (KFGO) – The North Dakota Highway Patrol says it continues to investigate a south Fargo crash first thought to involve a motorcycle and SUV, but actually involved two SUVs.   

The crash happened Sunday around 9:30 p.m. when the motorcycle crashed into the first SUV at the intersection of 42nd Street and 17th Avenue S.   

During the investigation, the Highway Patrol learned a second SUV – a Kia Sorento – struck the motorcycle after the initial collision, but then left the scene.   

The driver of the Sorento is unknown.   

The motorcycle driver, 37-year-old Regan Gara of Fargo, was taken to a hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.   

The two 17-year-old girls in the first SUV were not hurt.
