FARGO (KFGO) – The former coordinator of the 24-7 program for the Cass County Sheriff’s Office has been fired as a result of an internal investigation.
Sheriff Jesse Jahner says Deputy Darin Viken was placed on administrative leave July 17th and fired on July 22.
Jahner says due to the ongoing investigation, he will not release additional information at this time. Viken had been with the Sheriff’s Department for 19 years and was appointed 24-7 coordinator in 2015.
The 24-7 program requires people to submit to alcohol or drug testing on a daily basis as a condition of bail. It can apply to sentences or probation in various cases including driving violations, and domestic abuse and child abuse or neglect.
