This week’s country playlist sees a fantastic blend of collaborations and solo efforts from some of the industry’s best. Kicking things off, Jelly Roll teams up with Alexandra Kay for “Leave the Light On,” a standout track from the Twisters: The Album soundtrack. Jelly Roll trades his rock-fueled hits for a more bluesy vibe, complimented beautifully by Kay’s delicate voice. As well as an official music video for his other track for Twisters called “Dead End Road”
It’s always news when George Strait puts out new music – and we have news. King George’s 31st album, “Cowboys And Dreamers,” comes out September 6. Ahead of that we have already heard two tracks from the collection, “MIA Down In MIA” and “The Little Things.” Friday, a third song from the album was released.
Meanwhile, Joe Nichols gives us a taste of Americana nostalgia with “Bottle It Up.” This tune is perfect for anyone craving the simpler pleasures of small-town life during chaotic times. It’s practically summer bottled up in a song, complete with fireflies, family gatherings, and pecan pie.
Denitia offers an anthem for the overworked and underpaid with “Gettin’ Over.” Her relaxed, rootsy style calls back to an era of country music that hits right in the feels for the working class.
And speaking of soulful vibes, Caylee Hammack and Northern Irish singer-songwriter Foy Vance deliver an electrifying performance in “The Hill,” weaving together Celtic and bluegrass sounds.
Brad Tursi takes a solo venture with “Church Bells and Train Whistles,” an exploration of home comforts versus wanderlust.
Lastly, Jade Eagleson and Jake Worthington keep traditional country alive and kicking with their collaboration “Do It Anyway,” sticking it to anyone who says the cowboy hat is out of style.
