WEST FARGO (KFGO) – Fox and Friends brought their ‘Breakfast with Friends’ segment to Randy’s Diner, Too in West Fargo Monday morning.
When the owners made the announcement last week, it drew a mix of reactions with some people saying they were excited the restaurant was picked and others saying they wouldn’t eat there anymore. Some said it was a political statement, something owner Heidi Roggenkamp denied.
In the end, Roggenkamp said things went very well.
“We had people here from all ends of the political spectrum and everybody treated each other with respect and courtesy,” Roggenkamp said. “They said anyone could speak. Everybody got along very well.”
During the segment, host Brian Kilmeade interviewed several diners, asking them what issues are important to them. He also visited with Gov. Doug Burgum, Sen. Kevin Cramer, and actor Josh Duhamel.
Despite some negativity, stress, and a sleepless night as they prepared to be showcased on national television, Roggenkamp says it was worth it and she would do it again.
“I think it was such a wonderful opportunity for the team here to be able to have a great time and showcase the great job that they do,” Roggenkamp said. “It was also wonderful for the community in how many of our community members showed up to give the country the opportunity to see that Fargo is genuinely ‘North Dakota nice.’”
