JAMESTOWN, N.D. (KFGO) โ A West Fargo woman was cited and a Bismarck truck driver will likely face charges after two separate crashes in a construction zone on I-94 just east of Jamestown.
The first of the two crashes happened around 7pm Friday. The North Dakota Highway Patrol says 21-year-old Alessandra Reynolds of West Fargo was driving eastbound through a construction zone about a mile east of Jamestown. Troopers say she hit several sand-filled crash cushion barrels and rolled her SUV, blocking eastbound traffic. Debris from that crash went into the westbound lanes, and hit a Jamestown womanโs car.
Reynolds was taken to the Jamestown Regional Medical Center for minor injuries. She was cited for careless driving. The driver of the car hit by debris was not hurt.
The second crash happened just west of the first crash just before 7:30pm in the same construction zone. The Highway Patrol says Cora Smith of Golden Valley was going east on I-94, and was slowing down for the first crash. She was rear-ended by a semi, and spun out into the westbound lanes. The semi driver, 79-year-old Robert Dieterle from Bismarck, continued driving and hit a van. The driver and two passengers in the van were not hurt. Smith was brought to the Jamestown Regional Medical Center for minor injuries.
Dieterle is likely to face charges after investigation.
I-94 was shut down for about an hour while crews cleared the road.
