FARGO (KFGO) โ Highway Patrol troopers will be doing a โMove Over Lawโ saturation in Cass County Friday.
The North Dakota Move Over Law requires drivers to change lanes when approaching an emergency or maintenance vehicle that has its emergency or hazard lights activated on an interstate or multi-lane highway. If itโs not possible to safely change lanes, the driver must slow down as they pass the work area.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says drivers who donโt follow the Move Over Law can be fined $50 and have two points assessed to their driverโs license. The penalty goes up if a driver causes a crash by not following the Move Over Law.
