DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (KFGO/KZZY) โ The Ramsey County Sheriffโs Office says a Watford City man is facing three counts of felony animal cruelty after at least two dogs were found dead in a camper in northeastern North Dakota on Friday.
Authorities received a report about a dog locked in a camper in rural Crary and began an investigation. The Sheriffโs Office says one emaciated dog was found alive in the camper, and it was clear that the dog had been eating the other dogs to survive.
Brandon Rogness, 31, was taken into custody and booked into the Lake Region Law Enforcement Center.
According to investigators, Rogness admitted leaving the dogs in the camper for at least a week. He is being held on a $3,000 cash-only bond.
Each of the felony counts carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison.
The Sheriffโs Office says itโs possible the remains of additional dogs could be recovered at the scene.
